Leagues in play
It all started at a kitchen table talk in our home when my mom told me that she never played soccer in school. I asked why and she told be that “soccer is more of a boys sport in my country.” I immediately started dreaming of girls running down the dusty fields with a soccer ball. I imagined them laugh for joy on the sidelines like I do with my teammates. That’s when I had the inner talk that something needs to change. I decided to form Soccer4Girls to encourage girls in Sierra Leone to start playing soccer.
This dream become a reality on January 22nd 2022, when the first eight schools that have joined soccer for girls completed not only their lunching program but started to play competitive school soccer.
